RESUMO

Background and Aims: Problematic Social Networking Site Use (PSNSU) is not a formally recognised addiction, but it is increasingly discussed as such in academic research and online. Taking a quantitative, exploratory approach, this study aims to (1) determine whether PSNSU is presented like clinically defined addictions by the affected community and (2) address how well measurements of PSNSU fit with the thematic content found within the associated discourse. Methods: Four corpora were created for this study: a corpus concerning PSNSU and three control corpora concerning established addictions, including Alcohol Use Disorder, Tobacco Use Disorder and Gaming Disorder. Keywords were identified, collocates and concordances were explored, and shared themes were compared. Results: Findings show broad thematic similarities between PSNSU and the three control addictions as well as prominent interdiscursive references, which indicate possible confirmation bias among speakers. Conclusions: Scales based upon the components model of addiction are suggested as the most appropriate measure of this emerging disorder.

Creativity is becoming one necessary human skill in a world where robots increasingly outperform people in daily routines. In order to efficiently develop creativity as a research field, scholars need to know where they are.We employed a bibliometric approach to study themes and characteristics of creativity research in Spain. The results indicated that publication production in the field has been growing during the last dec-ades. Compared to psychology, creativity in the social sciences seemed to be an undercited, local, and endogamic area. For social sciences, motor themes in the last decade were a) creativity in children and students in the educational environment, b) innovation and knowledge creation in a work-ing environment, and c) cities and creativity. The motor themes in psy-chology were a) individual characteristics for generating insights (e.g., skills, improvisation, executive functions) and b) emotional intelligence. We sug-gest some themes for future research, such as creative collaboration in vir-tual environments, value co-creation, and how machines can help humans boost their creativity.(AU)

RESUMO

The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted two critical barriers hindering rapid response to novel pathogens. These include inefficient use of existing biological knowledge about treatments, compounds, gene interactions, proteins, etc. to fight new diseases, and the lack of assimilation and analysis of the fast-growing knowledge about new diseases to quickly develop new treatments, vaccines, and compounds. Overcoming these critical challenges has the potential to revolutionize global preparedness for future pandemics. Accordingly, this article introduces a novel knowledge graph application that functions as both a repository of life science knowledge and an analytics platform capable of extracting time-sensitive insights to uncover evolving disease dynamics and, importantly, researchers' evolving understanding. Specifically, we demonstrate how to extract time-bounded key concepts, also leveraging existing ontologies, from evolving scholarly articles to create a single temporal connected source of truth specifically related to COVID-19. By doing so, current knowledge can be promptly accessed by both humans and machines, from which further understanding of disease outbreaks can be derived. We present key findings from the temporal analysis, applied to a subset of the resulting knowledge graph known as the temporal keywords knowledge graph, and delve into the detailed capabilities provided by this innovative approach.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Many studies have shown an association between COVID-19 and autoimmune diseases (ADs). Studies on COVID-19 and ADs have also increased significantly, but there is no bibliometric analysis to summarize the association between COVID-19 and ADs. The purpose of this study was to perform a bibliometric and visual analysis of published studies related to COVID-19 and ADs. METHODS: Based on the Web of Science Core Collection SCI-Expanded database, we utilize Excel 2019 and visualization analysis tools Co-Occurrence13.2 (COOC13.2), VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and HistCite for analysis. RESULTS: A total of 1736 related kinds of papers were included, and the number of papers presented an overall increasing trend. The country/region with the most publications is the USA, the institution is the Harvard Medical School, the author is Yehuda Shoenfeld from Israel, and the journal is Frontiers in Immunology. Research hotspots include immune responses (such as cytokines storm), multisystem ADs (such as systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, and multiple sclerosis), treatment modalities (such as hydroxychloroquine, rituximab), vaccination and autoimmune mechanisms (such as autoantibodies, molecular mimicry). The future research direction may be the mechanisms and treatment ideas of the association between ADs and COVID-19 (such as NF-κB, hyperinflammation, antiphospholipid antibodies, neutrophil extracellular traps, granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor), other cross-diseases of COVID-19 and ADs (such as inflammatory bowel disease, chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis, acute respiratory distress syndrome). CONCLUSION: The growth rate of publications regarding ADs and COVID-19 has risen sharply. Our research results can help researchers grasp the current status of ADs and COVID-19 research and find new research directions in the future.

RESUMO

This piece of research explores language use in a sample of unprecedentedly studied discourse which is that of climate change communication by influential Spanish politicians via Twitter. For that purpose, we created a specialized corpus composed of tweets tackling climate change that were posted by influential Spanish politicians during the past decade. Our aim was to reveal prominent linguistic patterns that are susceptible of conveying a specific worldview (i.e.: the wording of reality) of climate change to Twitter users. Our analysis started with keywords analysis in order to gather quantitative data about the lexical choices deployed in our corpus, then by means of qualitative analysis based on semantic classification of keywords and the examination of their concordances we were able to point out distinctive features of our corpus' discourse. Our results have revealed the prevalence of specific linguistic patterns, metaphors and frames that contribute to create a narrative of climate change as a villain and the human race, specifically political leaders, as the saviour.

RESUMO

Purpose: Cesarean section (C-section) is associated with moderate-to-severe postoperative pain. Many studies on pain management after C-section have been published in recent decades, many of which focused on new regional techniques. The purpose of this study is to outline the connections within the dynamic evolution of postcesarean delivery analgesia research publications using retrospective bibliometric analysis. Patients and Methods: Published studies on postoperative pain management of C-section were retrieved from the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-E) of Web of Science (WOS) Core collection database. All papers published from 1978 to October 22, 2022 were searched. The research progress and growing trend were quantitatively analyzed by total publications, research institutions, journal impact factors, and author's contribution. Total citations frequency, average citations per item and h-index were used for evaluating literature quantity. Top 20 journals with the highest number of publications were charted. The keywords co-occurrence overlay map was visualized by the VOSviewer software. Results: From 1978 to 2022, a total of 1032 articles in postcesarean delivery analgesia research field were published, with 23,813 times cited, average citations of 23.07 per item, and an h-index of 68. The most high-yield publication year, countries, journals, authors, institutions were 2020 (n=79), the United States (n=288), Anesthesia and Analgesia (n=108), Carvalho B (n=25), and Stanford University (n=33), respectively. The United States had the most cited papers. The future research interest might be "prescription", "quadratus lumborum block", "postnatal depression", "persistent pain", "dexmedetomidine", "enhanced recovery", and "multimodal analgesia". Conclusion: By employing the online bibliometric tool and VOSviewer software, we found that studies on postcesarean analgesia had grown markedly. The focus had evolved to nerve block, postnatal depression, persistent pain, and enhanced recovery.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: This paper aimed to provide a systematic review of relevant articles from the perspectives of literature distribution, research hotspots, and existing results to obtain the frontier directions in the field of disinformation. METHODS: We analyzed disinformation publications published between 2002 and 2021 using bibliometric methods based on the Web of Science. There were 5666 papers analyzed using Derwent Data Analyzer (DDA). RESULTS: The result shows that the USA was the most influential country in this area, while Ecker and Lewandowsky from the University of Western Australia published the largest volumes of papers. Keywords such as "social media", "COVID-19", and "vaccination" have gained immense popularity recently. CONCLUSIONS: We summarized four themes that are of the biggest concern to scholars: group heterogeneity of misinformation in memory, disinformation mechanism in social media, public health related to COVID-19, and application of big data technology in the infodemic. The future agenda of disinformation is summarized from three aspects: the mechanism of disinformation, social media users, and the application of algorithms. This work can be a meaningful resource for researchers' study in the area of disinformation.

RESUMO

The authenticity and traceability of olive oils have been a growing concern over the past decades, generating numerous scientific studies. This article applies the tools of bibliometric analyses to explore the evolution and strategic orientation of the research focused on olive oil geographical and varietal origins. A corpus of 732 papers published in 178 different journals between 1991 and 2018 was considered. The most productive journals, authors and countries are highlighted, as well as the most cited articles associated with specific analytical techniques. A cluster analysis on the keywords generates 8 main themes of research, each focused on different analytical techniques or compounds of interest. A network between these thematic clusters and the main authors indicates their area of expertise. The metabolomics methods are drawing increasing interest and studies focused on the relationships between the origin and the sensory or nutritional properties provided by minor compounds of olive oils appear to be future lines of research.
